Gauges and Alarms

Clock Gauge—FIG 818 / 818F
For measuring liquid level in aboveground storage tanks. Gauge mounts on top of tank and is activated by a float connected to cable. Readout is on a 12-hour clock face. Patent 5144836

Clock Gauge With Metric Face—FIG 818
The Morrison Clock Gauge is a unique, fully mechanical, liquid level indicator which can be used in a variety of applications. The standard model will measure up to a 12 ft. dimension. Originally intended for small aboveground petroleum storage tanks to eliminate the need to manually "stick" the tank. Operation is simple: the float moves up and down with the level of the product and is cabled to a wheel which drives the hands on the clock.

Clock Gauge Alarm—FIG 918 / 918F
Utilizes the Fig. 818 style Clock Gauge with a built-in high level warning alarm. Contains a battery powered, intrinsically safe, alarm unit that is mounted remote from gauge. Alarm is set for desired level during installation and can be reset at any time for a change in alarm level requirements.

Alarm—FIG 918TCP
The 918 TCP provides an audible alarm for either a high or low level warning. The system incorporates an alarm box and a single-point level sensor. The alarm box is UL Listed.

The alarm box is a weatherproof, intrinsically safe, 90 decibel alarm that operates on two 9-volt batteries. It features a membrane-type test/cancel button.

The single point level sensor is designed for tanks up to 35’ tall. This rugged sensor is immersed in the tank through a 2" NPT female opening and is supported by a nylon liquid tight fitting, Teflon tubing and wire. The float and weight are stainless steel, making it ideal for almost any petroleum tank application.

The high or low activation is set at the factory. The order length should be equal to the distance from the top of the 2" tank opening to the desired activation level.

Mechanical Gauge—FIG 1018GM

The Fig. 1018 Mechanical AST Gauge is designed for use on aboveground storage tanks. This quality gauge provides a convenient and economical solution to inventory management needs. The standard gauge unit can be calibrated for tanks up to 35 ft. in height, eliminating costly custom probe lengths used in other gauging systems.

Simplex Tank Gauge—FIG 618
Used for measuring liquid level in aboveground storage tanks. Best suited for vertical tanks over 12 ft high. Gauge readout by tape which passes over an indicator mounted at 3 ft height on the side of the tank. Activated mechanically by a float that rests on the liquid level. Float is connected to a cable that runs up through the top of the tank, across two pulleys, and down the side of the tank to the indicator position.

Mechanical AST Gauge—Steil Safety Gauge FIG SGE92
Used for measuring liquid level in aboveground storage tanks. Ideal for tanks over 12 feet in height.  Measuring tape readout that is easily visible from ground level.

Overfill Prevention Valves

AST Overfill Prevention Valve—FIG 9095A
Installed at the fill port of an aboveground storage tank (top loading). Shuts off the flow of product when the liquid level reaches a preset warning level (90 - 95% full).

The Morrison 9095A Series is now approved with the City of New York Fire Department (Approval #5028).

AST Overfill Prevention Valve Test Mechanism—FIG 9095ATM

The new test mechanism option for the 9095A allows a technician to verify that the valve is functioning properly without having to climb on the tank or uninstall the valve. As a part of an ongoing tank maintenance program, one can verify the valve is working properly by pulling on the test line at any time during the filling process to actuate the float and stop the fill.

This added capability will increase safety by eliminating the risk of climbing on the tank to test the valve. It is also a quick and simple way to ensure that the Morrison Overfill Prevention Valve is working correctly.

The mechanism can be used for both direct and remote fill applications.

The test mechanism is sold separately as an option and is available for both the 2” and 3” valves. It will retrofit to existing valves.

AST Overfill Prevention Valve—2" FIG 9095S
The ULC Listed Morrison Overfill Prevention Valve is designed for use on low profile AST tanks that require a high level shut-off. The valve terminates the fill when the product reaches the preset level. The valve can be retrofitted on existing tanks and fits into a 2" opening. A tight fill connection is required for operation.

NOTE: For use on clean product oil. Not suitable for motor oil.

Diffusers

Diffuser—FIG 539 Series
Reduces turbulence of fuel in storage tanks, thus minimizing vapor creation. Reduces fuel contamination by directing flow away from debris on tank bottom. Saves on both fluid vaporization and wear and tear of tanks. Does not restrict flow of liquid into tank. Easily assembles to standard aluminum drop tube with screws or threaded pipe attachment. Variety of models available for both AST and UST applications.

Solenoid Valve—FIG 710
Installed on pipeline leading to/from an aboveground tank. This valve is used to prevent accidental spill or siphoning of product from the tank in the event of a fracture in the pipe or other cause for leak downstream and below the liquid level. The Fig. 710 solenoid valve is a two-way, hung piton type valve with normally "closed at rest positioning." The valve opens upon receipt of an electronic signal such as when a dispenser or pump is switched on.

Used on AST piping for relief of excessive pressure. Valve allows product to return back to the storage tank. Ductile Iron construction.

Gate Valve (without expansion relief)—FIG 234 and 235
Rising Stem Gate Valve used for manual flow control in petro-chemical liquid handling. Available in brass and ductile iron. This gate valve operates by rotating handwheel counter-clockwise to open or clockwise to close. Valve can be left partially open to control flow rate.

Download Specification Sheet.pdf

Gate Valve (with expansion relief)—FIG 534 and 535
Rising Stem Gate Valve used for manual flow control in petro-chemical liquid handling. Available in brass and ductile iron. This gate valve operates by rotating handwheel counter-clockwise to open or clockwise to close. Valve can be left partially open to control flow rate. This valve is equipped with expansion relief. This means that the piping exposed to outside temperature rise will create pressure build-up in sections of piping that are isolated by closed valves for example. Expansion relief feature allows product to bleed back through the closed valve, and thereby relieving excessive pressure in the line. If left uncontrolled, pressure build-up within a system can result in a release of product to the outside.

Anti-Siphon Valve—FIG 910ER
Used on AST to help prevent a release of product if a rupture in the line occurs below liquid level in the tank. This valve is normally closed and will resist the head pressure and assist in preventing any "siphoning" of tank contents. (due to heavy spring load needed to resist head pressure, the 910 ER is restricted to use on submerged pump (pressure) systems only.

Brass Globe Valve used to shut off product flow in the event of fire. Fusible element in handwheel automatically closes valve when in contact with 165° F.

External Emergency Valve—FIG 346 Series
Often referred to as "Fire Valve." Used to shut off flow in the event of fire. Fuse link holds open spring actuated lever. Mounts on external pipeline, thus the designation "external."

Download Specification Sheet.pdf

Internal Emergency Valve—FIG 272 Series
